Do Creationists Believe The Earth Is Flat?

If the basis of creationism is a literal translation of the Bible, do creationists also believe that the Earth is flat and fixed, with the sun and other planets revolving around it?

  1. Um…

    no.

    They don’t.

The “flat earth” issue first came about through the application of observational science to bible interpretation.

That’s sorta like what the TE folks do.

Funny things happen when we try to interpret the Bible by subjecting it to observational science, which has the potential to be wrong in ways we don’t even understand.

    • The point was why reject one scientific theory based on biblical literalism and not the rest?

But a better point: why not keep them separate and interpret a religious text through religious context, and interpret scientific evidence through a scientific context?

  2. Creationists believe a lot of different things. So maybe some of ’em do believe that the Earth is flat.
